Now Offering Virtual Consults and Appointments

In order to meet the needs of our community, we are offering everyone (new and existing patients) Virtual Consults and Appointments. This allows you to see and talk with Dr. McAndrews from the comfort of your home in order to address your dermatologic skin and hair concerns.

You are also welcomed to come into our private medical office. It is reassuring to our patients, especially during this time, that our exclusive sterile medical office consists only of Dr. McAndrews and his 2 nurses, and that we only see 1 patient at a time. Nobody else is in the waiting room. Our undivided medical attention is solely on you.

Dr. McAndrews only performs 1 hair transplant surgery a day. He believes and demands that his entire focus is on the 1 patient receiving a hair transplant on that day. You can be reassured knowing that there will be no other patients in our medical office on your surgery day – our 100% attention is on you. It is also reassuring knowing that you can easily recover in the comfort and privacy of your own home.

Telemedicine is an important way to offer care to patients with dermatological skin and hair concerns who can’t come into our office. We are committed to offering you our expertise, privacy and excellent medical care, especially now during these unique times.

Sincerely,
Paul J. McAndrews, M.D.

ENJOY THE McANDREWS DIFFERENCE

Welcome to Dr. McAndrews’ Practice. We strive to be on the forefront of hair transplant, corrective hair transplant surgery, and medical hair loss treatment technology. We are dedicated to giving our patients the best hair restoration results with the highest level of service and care.

Dr. McAndrews and his very experienced staff perform only one hair transplant a day. Dr. McAndrews’s undivided attention on the day of the hair transplant belongs to that patient and that patient alone, because we realize this is one of the most important commitments a patient will ever make about his or her appearance.

Dr. McAndrews is personally involved in every step of the transplant procedure. He does not believe that the responsibility of performing a hair transplant should be handed off to a medical technician.

Because he has always been a patients’ advocate, Dr. McAndrews spends considerable time educating his patients before a decision to proceed with any procedure is made. When necessary, he explains why a hair transplant may not be the best solution for the patient.

We always respect the patient’s desire for privacy and confidentiality.

QUALITY

Quality

Dr. McAndrews believes in quality, not quantity. He continues to be on “the cutting edge of technology.”

Dr. McAndrews is currently using the aid of a stereoscoping microscope to transplant grafts in their “Natural Hair Groupings.”

Dr. McAndrews is involved in “every step” of the hair transplant, which can last anywhere from four to eight hours. He performs only one hair transplant a day.

INTEGRITY

Integrity

Dr. McAndrews is “Old fashioned” in that he still believes as a physician, he is a teacher and trusted advisor, who knows his patients well. Unfortunately, many hair transplant physicians have turned into “selling a commodity” and the doctor-patient relationship has suffered greatly. In many cases, in these types of clinics, the physician does not see the patient until the day of their surgery. The only contact these patients have, prior to the surgery, is with a non-medical consultant. There is no way to establish a relationship with a patient under these circumstances.

Dr. McAndrews performs a hair transplant only if it is in the best interest of the patient. There are many other treatment options that may be better suited for certain patients.

Dr. McAndrews strongly believes that he is the patient’s advocate. As the patient’s advocate, there are times when one is ethically obligated to go against the patient’s wishes because it is truly in the best interest of that patient (and eventually that patient will come to realize this and appreciate it).

ULTIMATE TECHNIQUE

Ultimate Technique

The ultimate hair transplant technique has to respect the only remaining limitation to the surgical treatment for hair loss, each patient has a fixed amount of good genetic hair from the sides and back of their scalp that can be used to transplant in the balding area.

It is of paramount importance that the hair transplant surgeon is entirely focused on ensuring every transplanted graft survives and grows. Any technique or procedure that ultimately increases the percentage of survival of the transplanted hair should be used. Conversely, any technique or procedure that decreases survival must not be used.

The techniques that maximize survival of the grafts during the hair transplant are as follows:

  • Having a doctor (not an unlicensed technician) who is highly trained perform the entire hair transplant.
  • Being meticulous and not rushing the hair transplant procedure (Dr. McAndrews performs only one transplant per day).
  • Natural Hair Grouping Transplants
  • Using the Stereotype Microscope in order to dissect the grafts.
  • Hairline design and graft placement techniques.
